Books

A substantial number of Star Wars novels have been published, expanding on the stories and characters introduced in the six Star Wars movies. The books cover events ranging from thousands of years before The Phantom Menace to a hundred years after Return of the Jedi. Collectively, theses books are known as the "Expanded Universe". One of the most influential contributions is the Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn which many fans believe should form a basis for episodes VII, VIII, and IX.
