Help! A first grader has trouble going from one group of tens to the next. (i.e. What's after 29?)? He can count until he gets to a number that ends in a 9, and then he can't tell me the next number. We have worked on learning about tens and ones, used hundreds charts, and he cannot seem to grasp the concept. Now we are learning money, and its affecting his schoolwork because he cannot grasp the counting on aspect.
