Has anybody used Alza Transactions and got a good service out of it? Are they even legitimate?

I have. And so have many of my friends. It is most definitely not a scam. It is a fast-growing and very genuine online marketplace. In fact I remember KCAL-9 featuring them 2 or 3 times already as The Answer to Internet Fraud.
They are perhaps the only true Fraud-Free online marketing website around. They have a simple and ingenious way of protecting both buyer & seller. Apart from this, the best thing I like about the site is that you can post your ads for free, as many as you want.
You don't have to pay *until and unless you sell* ! Not sure how you can beat this : Free plus Fraud-Free!
They are not a scam in fact. The person who said that they are is an idiot and actually has been arrested for cyberfraud before. In fact the reason he has called Alza Transactions a scam is that they had him arrested for attempting to defraud an Alza customer however the system caught him.
sorry dude.
I haven't used it, but I did read about how the payment process goes. It's not like paypal, it works more like an escrow service: Buyer sends money to Alza Transactions and not directly to the seller. Money is released to the seller once the buyer has received the item. Makes sense to me. People are sending their money to someone, nontheless, and it's good to know they're seemingly legit.
I agree, there are different opinions coming from people that used and not used this company, but most of the bad ones come from people that just think they are not legitimate based on the fact that they don't offer a telephone support or they can't pick up the items. Different opinions will always be in any domain, because you will never find a thing in this world that will be OK with everybody, even God is questioned so ... that's the human nature, to question everything and be skeptik on everything.
I know what you mean and I talk from the seller's point of view: I sold often on Craigslist, from 2006 I keep selling cameras and accessories on this online marketpalce and i've seen them all, from account theft to paypal and cashiers check scams. I personally don't trust PayPal anymore, not that they are not a good service, but because of the scams that are going on more and more often on Craigslist involving PayPal and cashiers checks. Over the years i saw that these scams target only the small items, items that can be delivered internationally because the "buyers" are "buying" stuff as a present for their daughter in Nigeria, a gift for someone close in another country, etc. So how secure is PayPal when they can use their system to scam others? Why would i use paypal anymore when it was supposed to be the safest service out there and guaranteed by eBay but if i receive 10 questions on a camera listed on craigslist, 6 are scams trying to pay with paypal and steal my item. So of course I want to use a safe service so i can have the guarantee that i actually receive the payment and i will not get scammed. I found out about Alza Transactions recently and i sold 2 camers and 2 lenses so far with their help without the fear of getting scammed, any hassle etc. I am very satisfied with their offers and all that so it's a A+++ from me.
A friend of mine completed a sale 2 weeks ago and I am one of those that advised him not to buy anything from them because I thought they are a big scam, like always he didn't listen and bought his gaming machine because he found an excellent deal, "too good to be true" on craigslist. After he sent the payment to them he told me and I was so mad at him for not listening, but he received the computer 2 days later and I was actually surprised, never expected that. So I guess they are OK, I never used them because I am one of those Old School people that like to exchange the item with cash in person and I would love to see them try to steal my money, that would be some acomplishment from them LOL.
