So I got a ticket for going 28 over the speed limit the officer told.me he isn't charging me for reckless driving.just speeding but I got another ticket for.not having an updated insurance card but I'm.taking that one to court to get the price lowered since my insurance is up to date just didn't have the new card so my question.is can the judge change the speeding ticket to reckless and.could I go.to the jail for this.

If the ticket wasn't for reckless, then you can't be charged for reckless. The insurance ticket can be completely taken care of with proof, no fine in most cases. However, due to the fact you were going 28 over you can get anywhere from possible jail time to suspended or revoked license, whatever the prosecutor finds justifiable. Usually, first offenses get a lighter punishment of the options. I think losing your license would be the first issue you will deal with at hand before jailtime if you haven't done anything like this before. Then, the court costs. Luckily, however, if jail time would be the issue, rhe max is maybe MAYBE 30 days in county, if not less.
