I'm new to Facebook and I was going to like a ton of Movies and things so that my page was not so blank but I don't want friends newsfeeds just being filled with things I am liking.

No but it will show up on your profile so if he/she looks at your wall and goes to info it will be along side all your info but it will be at the bottom under movies ,interests likes etc you will understand better if you have a look your self and its easier if you have facebook as an application.
