My girlfriends parents yave seperated and her father took my girlfriends horse charlie to his new house knowing how much she cared about this horse.her father is a very inconsiderate,rude and just not a very caring person.this horse is the most important thing to my girlfriend but she never gets to see him unlesd she goes to her dads house and she hates doing this because he verbally abuses her and upsets her.she suffers depression and the way she over came it was with the horse somehow.she has to see her father due to court order but she never gets to be with the horse around her dad.i just want to know is there any way for her to gain ownership of her horse or at least her mum so that she can have it at her house

She should ask the judge at the court house. This is kind of hard to answer because I could say if she has the horses papers in her name then her father cant take it, but if she is under eighteen then can probably take it. Its a difficult subect, so if the judge is nice he/she will understand why she needs the horse and will give it to her. Its not always for sure, but has happened before and is worth a shot. Maybe she could write a letter about her depression, and how the horse helped, and how seeing her dad is not good at all. Or you could do for her. Hey if the horse was hers and he took it to make it so she would want to go over to his house, that is NOT OKAY AT ALL. Just thought that might be important to add in the letter, if you decide to do it. I dont know what you believe in but i just wanted to let you know that Im praying everything turns out okay, and she gets to keep the horse. Also, I'm sorry that this isnt a very good answer, but this subject is full of several complications.
