(ăg´´ōrăk´rĭtəs), fl. 5th cent. B.C., Athenian sculptor born on the island of Paros, said to have been the favorite pupil of Phidias. His best-known work was the colossal Nemesis at Rhamnus in Attica, erroneously ascribed by some to Phidias himself. Fragments of this statue and of its pedestal are in the British Museum and in the national museum in Athens.
