(əntôn´ styĭpä´nəvĭch ärĕn´skē), 18611906, Russian composer; pupil of Rimsky-Korsakov at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. After 1882 he taught at the Moscow Conservatory and became (1895) conductor of the Imperial Chapel Choir. He wrote operas, including
