Curicó
rēkō´), city (1990 est. pop. 77,632), capital of Curicó prov., central Chile, near the Mataquito River. Founded in 1743, Curicó is the metropolis of a flourishing agricultural region noted for livestock raising and wine. The town was rebuilt after an earthquake destroyed it in 1928.
