San Francisco–oakland Bay Bridge

From San Francisco it crosses the bay to Yerba Buena Island, where a tunnel connects with spans leading to Oakland and Berkeley. The bridge sustained significant damage in the severe 1989 October earthquake that hit the Bay Area.
