Migrate/Dongle Pokemon (Legit GBA - DS ROM)?

Question

I currently own a legit copy of each GBA Pokemon game (LeafGreen, FireRed, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald) and a DSTT card with ROMS of the DS/DSI games (Pearl, Diamond, Platinum, SoulSilver, HeartGold) 

I am trying to dongle the GBA games in order to catch Pokemon not usually in these games. Also, I am trying to migrate Pokemon from the GBA games into the DS games.

When I try either of these it erases my save file on the GBA games and I am unable to dongle or migrate. 

Any suggestions???

It's probably because you're using a flashcart, which only emulates the games, not actually plays them. You'll have to buy actual cards of the DS games to migrate Pokemon from the GBA to the DS.
