My ex boyfriend doesn't pay child support for our two kids. He is $26,300 in back child support. Whenever they come over which is once every 4-6 months. His girlfriend and him try to get me to sign off his back child support. I never say yes because I will never do that. But his girlfriend has two children and she get's child support from him infrequently but she gets something. But they both complain about how her Ex is a jerk and dead beat and that he refuses to help pay for his kids or when he does it's not even the whole thing. Then again turn around and tell me I need to write off my ex's child support because they can't afford anything. I haven't seen less then $500.00 from my ex for his kid's in six year's. Twice a year I will get a partial payment because he will get a job have it until they garnish his check then he quit's. Or work's seasonal jobs so the garnishments won't take his check because it takes three months to start garnishing and by then he has quit and has a new job and it starts all over again. The state has taken him to court and he failed to show up to the last three. He has another court date on the 28th of this month. But he still hasn't made a single payment. The last judge told him he need's to make a minimum of 100 a month from his original amount of 470 but thats with 90 of back child support. He hasn't done that. Will the judge put his butt in jail already? Okay with all that said what should I do? --I know that what good would that do if he is in jail he won't be able to make a child support payment. But if he isn't making them anyway then how will he learn that he has to make payments. If there is no consequence what motivates him to pay it? He has been back and forth to jail for years and has no problem spending a week in then to be out again for a few months then back in. That doesn't phase him. So what can I do about this whole situation??? Thanks.
