So I bought a Russian dwarf hamster almost a year ago and decided to buy another one 5 months ago. My older one used to pick on the little one at first but then they became best friends. They would eat together, groom each other, sleep together and they were inseparable until today. The younger one has started attacking the older one which he’s never done before. They are now in separate corners of the cage and the older one seems really scared, he even wet himself after one attack. He is not fighting back though, he lays on his back and gives in to him. Although he’s normally the more aggressive one. The younger one seems to have calmed down. Should I leave them together and hope they get back to normal or move one into a different cage?
