Pasta - why does water end up on the dinner plate even after straining the spaghetti noodles for 10?

...  minutes, along with shaking the strainer?  I hate how the sauce, noodles, and meatballs look with water pooling around it

I guess after straining you are tipping spaghetti onto the plates rather than lifting them out with a kind of fork-ladel that has holes for the last water to drip through?
