I once saw artwork that I loved, but I never got the title to the piece, and now I cannot find it using google. I'm going to post the details of what I remember about the piece, and I am asking everyone if they know the title and/or artist.
It's a turn of the century illustration (1880-1930 ?), dark oils, old man with overalls in a woodshop making toys, a toy chest on the right side of picture, toy chest is blue and gold and opened with instrumental horns, teddy bears, etc, piled up and out. On the left hand side of the toy chest there is a mouse door, which looks like a castle door. An mouse, standing on two legs, is coming out of the toy chest door. He is wearing old fashion pj's with a pointed hat that folds over with a ball on the end of it. The mouse is also holding a saucer with a lit candle. A folded-up quilt sits next to the toy chest. The man is not obviously santa clause, nor dresses like him, but he is working on a table in the shop making toys (?) Thank you for any help you can provide!
