...treated for an ear infection. My doctor wanted to see his ears after the antibiotics. He said they looked great but that he wanted to put him on a low dose antibiotic for 3 months to see if he got an ear infection in that time. If so to get tubes. Even tho my son is fine, healthy again, and no since of ear pain. He does get congested, but not sick while he wants him on antibiotics. Is this safe, normal?

If at all possible, try not to give/take too many antibiotics if not necessary. As long as everything has cleared up fine, it might be better to let his immune system deal with the rest (the congestion). Taking too many antibiotics adds to the growing concern of developing antibiotic resistent bugs. Please note, I'm not a doctor. If you are concerned go back and discuss again with your physician.
