I have been having bleeding over the past few days during my bowl movements. I was advised that this is likely due to stress and stomach ulcers. My question is this: Does diphenhydramine have the same side effects as anti-inflammatories? I have a friend who suffers from stomach pain that was suggested by his doctor to be caused by ulcers likely induced by over use of the following anit-inflammatory medications: bismuth salicylate (such as Pepto), naproxen (such as Aleve) & ibupropen (such as Advil). I weight 150lbs & am 23. I taken 100mg of diphenhydramine every night for years.
What are side effects to taking 100mg of diphenhydramine every night for sleep over several years?

You can go to any search engine, such as google.com, and type the name of any medication followed by "side effects" and get links to all knowledge. drugs.com is usually the first link: www.drugs.com/sfx/diphenhydramine-side-effects.html
They do not include bleeding. Warm milk and calcium pills make an excellent sleeper and the only side effect is strong bones.
The first line of defense against stress and anxiety is B vitamins. Get nutritional yeast powder and/or B-100 pills. Vitamin B2 is a water soluble dye that turns urine bright yellow. When the color fades, it's time for another dose. Read some books about nutrition so you know how to eat right.
