Why do people build wood houses?

Main reason to build wooden home is to protect their home from natural disaster like earthquake,flood etc.In earthquake prone countries natural disaster intermittently runs and with wooden flooring light weight floor construct ,to save their costing on house and for safety purpose peoples make their home by wood.
