Why do socks get lost in the washer/dryer?

Responses (3)

Every washer/drier in the Universe is connected to every other one by means of hyperspacial wormholes. Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle means that there is an inevitable small level of "leakage" between driers, which accounts for both the loss of your own socks, and the occasional arrival of a single sock which you know you've never posessed.
