I live in a mobile home and have calor gas heating.
When I turn a hot tap on there is a loud bang as if there is a build up of gas before it ignites. What is the cause of this and remedy?

When you have hard water, magnesium salts collect inside the heater. That is called scale. The heater heats the tank, but the scale does not conduct heat to the water. The scale breaks, and the water rushes up to the hot metal and is turned to steam, causing a bang. Pretty soon the tank will break and you will have to replace it. Start saving for that now.
