Why does my crush always looks down on the floor in the hallway when he see me ??

We used have class last semester and he would always glance or smile at me during class and in the hallways he would grab my attention and we would make long eye contact while passing each other in the halls.now since we don't have any classes together he looks at the ground when he sees me in the hallway like doesn't pay attention to me, why is that?
