I have worked with produce alot and I am pretty sure you got an old, over ripe melon. This time of year watermelon season is coming to a close. If at all possible, instead of throwing it away, take it back to the store. Doesn't matter how much you ate. Stores are (especially produce) are generally happy to take it back. and you are helping the store as well, no one wants a grainy, soft, yukky watermelon.
