Oh yes oops I'm stupid sorry. :(
Don't cal yourself stupid. You just made a small mistake, that's all. Ignore the haters Pallas.
I did the same thing as you i first thought it was 10
lol
PallasAthena you are close but the answer is seven because 2 parents plus 4 daughters plus 1 brother and your not stupid you just got the question wrong.
Is it 10 or 7?
7!!!!!!!!
Wow. 50 answers in just 8 weeks. That has to be a world record! :D
It actually 10 because they are 2 parents and there are 4 daughters and EACH of them has one brother so if there are 4 sisters then there are 4 brothers sense EACH sister has 1 brother. So the answer is 2+4+4=10
7 people are there in the family. Mom, Dad, Daughter1, Daughter2, Daughter3, Daughter4, Brother.
Oh my gosh I've never seen so many votes down on one answer before! 38 dislikes! Ha-ha. The answer is 7 Athena.
Kwabena, actually it's 40 and climbing. XD
Thanks Kwabena! XD I think I broke the record!
Sorry PallasAthena it's 7.
It is 7 i think
You would have gotten 10 because the question isn't worded properly. "Each sister has 1 brother" could have meant each sister, meaning 4, could each have a brother meaning 4 brothers..
My nephew Dee'on married Josephine and had a son named Jr. Dee'on and Josephine divorced. Dee'on then married Barbara and Josephine married Jonathan. Dee'on and Barbara had Dylan and Taylor (female). Josephine and Jonathan had Jolie, Jonah and Justin. So Jr. now has 3 brothers and 2 sisters whereas his brother Dylan only has 1 brother and 1 sister. So there is not enough info in the riddle to give a reliable answer.
There is plenty of information to give a viable answer. The answer is not 10. It’s 7.
Yeah it's 7 because there are 5 kids in the family plus the parents so that makes 7.
No that's not right. 4 brothers in the family? NO! The question clearly states: 'mom and dad have four daughters and each daughter has one brother. How many people are in the family?' That doesn't mean you get to say there are 4 brothers and each daughter gets 4 brothers. That makes no sense. But the 2 parents + 2 daughters + 1 brother = 7 is correct. The one below it: 'If there were four brothers in the family then each daughter would have four brothers,' does not make sense.
The answer is 7 boy with the letter 'O'. You got it right and you are correcting this person you are so mean
And if there were four brothers in the family then you would add that to the four daughters and the two parents and that would make eleven. But since there aren't four brothers in the family [only 1] then it would equal 7.
The answer is 7. That is all you need to know!
Guys, the answer is 7. Not 10.
Where is everyone getting 10 from anyways? The question means one brother in all, not one brother each!
please calm down. jewels did a perfectly fine job analyzing the legitimate answer.
Look at you, William, talking like you read the dictionary and became a genius at big words!
It's totally and utterly pointless to argue about Vern's answer guys. Please, we need to talk this through. In a civilized manner, perhaps?
The answer makes total sense. If the 4 daughters had 4 brothers then it WOULD be 10. But it's not. It's simple enough to say that the answer is 7 because 2 and 4 make 6 add the 1 and you get 7.
Yes it is 7 because 2 parents plus 4 parents plus 1 brother equals 7 I thought it was ten then I thought it was 6 I'm so stupid :(
Markilo24 you said 4 parents instead of four daughters
Yes the answer is 7. This question is totally legit right now.
Hi Madison it's actually 7 because you add the 4 daughters to the 2 parents to the one brother and that equals 7. 4+2+1=7
Okay, clearly you don't get it: SO the mom and the dad (that's 2) plus the four daughters (that's six) plus the ONE brother equals seven. The answer is 7. The reason why is the daughters don't have one brother each, They have one brother in all which makes 7. So it's 4 + 2 + 1 and that equals 7.
The answer is 7. You don't include 4 boys into the family. If you did then...................
2+4+4+1=11 that's not right there wouldn't be 11 people in the family there would be only 7. Just because it says "Each daughter has one brother", doesn't mean you include 4 boys into the scenario. It's 7. If you want to put my answer down as a minus, go ahead and it's fine by me but this thing is a RIDDLE! You don't include the 4 boys. There is only 1 boy involved.
Point taken David-Michael
Finally someone gets it! Seriously! People are saying it's 10 but it's not because the family only has 1 son/brother.
NO!!!!!!!!!!!! its 2 parents and 4 daughters and each daughter has 1 brother so its 10 you dont get it

Oh, good, someone else gets it! People keep saying it's 10 but they don't get it.
I believe you did your math incorrectly. Do you know your addition and subtraction facts at all? Also, how did you get 8? I think you should check your math again, just to make sure it's 7!
Yeah. Think about it. 2 parents, 4 daughters, and 1 brother. That's 7 members in the family, yet people are speculating and saying incorrectly that it's 10 but it's not.

Hi Pallas,
No, it's not 10 because you have 5 kids and two parents so that makes 7 people in the family. I have no idea where you got 10 from but whatever kind of logical math you were doing, you did wrong.
