When the parents including single parents cannot agree on the well being of a child, the legal system in most lands will provide means to try to ensure that the children’s best interests are protected. The judge’s paramount concern will be the children, not the parents. The judge will consider many relevant factors, such as the wishes of the parents, the relationship of the child to each parent, the preferences of the child, and each parent’s ability to provide day-to-day care. Then the judge will determine where and with whom the child will live as well as how the parents will work out important decisions about the child’s future.
However you view the laws of the lands they are put in place to protect all of us. Someone have to make a decision especially for some as young as you are. Yes you love your mother and your grandmother knows this also. Think for a minute why is it my mother was denied custody? and read the factors above. Even though laws are not perfect they are important to our survival. I know it is painful but you are too young to make that choice. Be thankful you have a caring grand mother or you may have to be placed in a home. Focus on getting an education so that you can get a job to take care of your self when the time comes.
Much has to do with your view of the situation. Proverbs 15:15 says: “All the days of the afflicted one are bad; but the one that is good at heart has a feast constantly.” As this proverb implies, a person’s mood is often determined more by his attitude than by his circumstances. Try not to use your circumstances as a reason to rebel against others you only hurt yourself.
