I have a 5-month-old baby sister and well I was in school one my classmates made a sound like a baby crying and I jumped up on reflex. Why did I do that? Am I becoming more mother like than I already am?

Why wouldnt you be like that?! I'd be surprised if you didn't. You've simply become habituated to the sound of the baby. You've had 5 months practice. It's your body and brain attuned to the needs of the baby. Good indication you'll take good care of your own child one day.
Have you heard the term "muscle memory" used in conjunction with gym workouts? You get sore doing a particular movement but the more you do it the easier it becomes as your body learns the movement it no longer feels strange or difficult. The brain says, "We have to do full body rows," and the muscles reply, "Oh yes, we know that one, let's go!"

Your brain hears a baby sound and without thought the muscles reply, "Stand up, we have to check on the baby!"
That's a good sign and all normal. Its wears off as the need to check requires less attention. It's built in to our DNA. Its how we keep the species alive. Without it, lots of infants wouldn't survive.
