Should parents give their children money for something in return or just give them whenever they need to. I need some ideas to write my essay but somehow stuck here because I am not a parent xD
It is a parent's responsibility to teach a child how to get along in the world. So the parent teaches the child how to count, and then how to count money, and then gives the child money to spend because that is how the child learns to manage money.
If the parent fails to teach those concepts then the child never learns the necessary discipline. He thinks his parent is a source of money and fusses to get what he wants. That is the parent's failure, not the child's.
Child labor laws make it a crime to let the child learn those things.
Parents give children whatever they need because they are obligated to and there are child labor laws. There is no need to pretend they are working for it or earning it. Giving them what they "need" is not going to spoil them. However, wasting money in front on them and giving them anything they want, whenever they want is going to obviously build bad habits & devalue money. But, that assumes you think that is bad. Say they get used to an expensive lifestyle, but then the money runs out. Maybe that's motivation for them to achieve to get that lifestyle back. It's only one variable, which depends on other motivations.
