... years, then used as a truck patch. What makes the surface of the soil have a red or rust color after a rain and the soil surface dries?
I should have been more specific as I know the red soils of the south and of SE Asia. We are in a hard wood forest area. The red only shows up on the surface after it dries out after a rain. The soil looks normal after it is tilled.It is also relatively poorly drained.
