I recently made a laptop purchase after saving up for quite some time being that I currently live in my car after being deemed non essential in 2020. I thought a LT would be useful in seeking employment, retrieving my important docs, resume, finding resources such as shower, interview clothes etc... I planned on using my cells hotspot, but even at 5G the connection isn't sufficient for proper performance. Any ideas on what I need to be saving up for? I lack the technical knowledge & only faced confusion in determining the type of device I will need which I believe is a wireless router, but I also saw other mention like a dongle ect... I'm also not sure how the service works because most also includes talk/text when I only need data, I would also like to avoid paying for service's I don't need if possible.

I dunno about where you live, but residing in your car and unemployed since last year paints a rather bleak picture, hardly beneficial for your cause.
What exactly are you doing that requires a *fast* connection? Steady I can understand, if there aren't many free sources in the vicinity (you should collect as much offline data so net usage can be limited to fewer times a day).
Either way, I don't see the internet as a priority in any way. A constant expense you can't afford. You need a cheap / free place to stay and a job. Are you unable to perform grunt labour? There's always need for that in developed countries
