I currently am a student. I am upset about the events that are happening in the world right now. I was wondering how, as a student, could I help change the views of society and help spread the rights of others. (eg. awareness of racism, homophobia and political events). I recently asked a gc and all they had to say was just to ride the wave, you can't change anything. Please help because I would like to share my views to help spread awareness and change society for the better. thanks :)

It is very difficult to change society though your intentions are good. By changing ourselves, we can become role models, and society will then change. We can be compassionate, we can love, we can serve, we can help others. We are not able to change others, but definitely we can change ourselves. Therefore the best thing is to do is to change yourself, and to portray yourself as a role model. For others to make a choice to follow or not, we should give others freedom to choose their path. We should not force others on our path though we all think our path is right. We should follow our conviction and set an example for others.
