This is awfully simple. What exactly don't you understand?

Using Shift-6 to indicate powers:
f=ma
2kg x 9.8m/s^2 =19.6 newtons of force in the string. 

f=ma but now m is the sum of 2 and 5.
19.6n = 7kg x a
a = 19.6n/7kg = 2.8m/s^2
