I just started as a youth leader at my church a couple of months ago. I was in youth group my senior year (2 years ago) but I'm having a hard time connecting with the girls. Several of them were in when I was so maybe they feel a little strange about that (I do to!). I also feel that some of the other leaders (there's 7 of us) don't really like me and wonder why I was even asked to help (by the youth pastors wife--she's been mentoring me for the past year). I'm not a super outgoing person and I seem to have either really good days or really bad days when it comes to interacting with the youth group. I just need some advice! Either from other youth leaders or maybe from those still in youth group. How can I connect with the kids and impact them without sounding like I'm reading off of a script (know what I mean?)
