Bought 5 month old puppy from cousin. Puppy seems sad and sleeps a lot. Is this a normal behavior?

5 month old puppy was bought from cousin.. Since having her here, she has slept and barely played with us. She will go into another room and sleep on the carpet.  If she is not sleeping on the carpet, she will sleep on the carpet beside us. Is this normal for her to seem shy/sad and sleep so much?

Yup, so long as you are feeding it right and giving it exercise. Seems normal, that's what young animals do, sleep a lot. It might be lonely and missing its brothers and sisters but it'll get over that.

depends on the dog my dog at 5 months was very lively, it might be sick, my dog doesn't do anything while she sick. or as i said depends on the dog, ask your cousin what it was like before

Has she been to the vet? Has she had her shots? Dewormed? Take her to the vet a normal puppy would be playing and be happy even if they have a laid back demeanor. She may also need. Playmate but take her to the vet

Its probably too late for my answer but NO, that's not normal. puppies do sleep a lot , but when they are awake they are playful and happy !  a sad looking puppy that sleeps a lot its most probably an ill puppy. take it too the vet for a check up!

Well it is probably homesick maybe get another puppy for it to play with but make sure she likes the other dog
