Did we win the Vietnam War?

The truth is that our military won the war, but our politicians lost it. The Communists in North Vietnam actually signed a peace treaty, effectively surrendering. But the U.S. Congress didn't hold up its end of the bargain.

To this day nobody has figured out why American armed forces were there at all. You can't win if you don't know what you are trying to win, but it is possible to lose. To this day you can not buy good cinnamon because it was grown in Vietnam and the Americans killed all the trees. And something like 50,000 Americans died to accomplish that. So you tell me: what did we win?
