Does anyone know anything about Shirley Jackson. My mum and her used to skate together. My mum has passed away recently but I just wanted to know about her. She won some championships and I was always in the stands watching her. She had dark hair and was very pretty. Please contact me if you do know anything about this amazing women.

Yes my nan says she knows her but not very well that they were close friends. So it's just a bit of a cliche as we were just doing a little project on my nan searching to find any pics of my nan but we cant find any.
So did your mum have any pics of my nan or any titles of anything?

Its ok I'm not offended. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of Shirley nor titles. It was only when I was younger my mum used to take me to the rink and the championships all across UK. Usually Shirley would be there, my mum at that point would nudge me on the shoulder and point out 'that's Shirley!' So I was only young but me and my partner were going through my mums loft today and came across a picture of me and her outside the birchfield roller rink and I just wanted to know if anyone knew about Shirley, as I think everyone would love Shirley Jackson if they knew her.

awww thanks she is now called Shirley Clayton and we are doing loads of research to find some more stuff but thanks for your help and it's nice talking to you.
Hi so great to hear someone get back to me so quickly, my mum was called queenie brooks I got mistaken my mum didn't used to skate with Shirley but she owned birchfield skate rink. She had pictures of all the fantastic skaters who participated at the rink. She always talked about Shirley and talked about Shirley always having a talent for skating. I changed my name by depoll so it might sound I am not related but we are blood related.
