can we feed them boiled vegetable & fruits like other aquarium fish?

strictly speaking we cant feed them boiled vegetables &fruits like other aquarium fishes because the diet of mosquitofish(gambusia affins) is mosquito larvae,beetles mites and other invertebrates mostly they eat mosquito larvae these fishes are forcefully sent to some places where the mosquitoes are more in number to help the people around those places from this the gambusia affins got a name as mosquitofish
i said that we cant feed them by vegetables and fruits like other aquarium fishes and mostly they feed on mosquito larvae but it is not the only diet for them as i mentioned above that we can feed them beetles, mites and other invertebrates too. hope u understand what i want to say
but many sourses said that they can suffer mortalities if fed only on mosquito larvae, and survivors show poor growth and maturation.
