I'm going to South Korea next summer for a year (and possibly longer) before college to work at a school and a homeless shelter so I can get experience for the career I'm going into. I've heard that Koreans aren't very friendly towards foreigners. I'm a white American. I've never met a Korean, my only experiences are with Korean-Americans. I will be staying with a host family the entire year. I've read a book on Korean culture and I'm learning Korean. I hope they will like me just because I'm friendly and respectful, but if they don't like foreigners, then there's not much I can do. Will I be able to make friends, get dates, fit in, etc? Thanks.
