... and we are not sure what it was. I have two puppies now that have been on milk replacer for the past 4 days but i feel like theyre not getting enough nutrients. The mother seems to be fine she active and eating well but 4 of her nipples are a deep purple color and so is the rest of her 4 breasts. should i be worried? could the milk be toxic, should i feed the pups from her or not? there are no vets available in my area at the moment so this is really important!!!!

you should get some of the moms milk they have all you really do is have you might be able to call a pet shop but they do sell mothers milk. You might be able to call a vet thats close to you the colstrum is the milk you need it sounds like her teats got injured some how mabe preasure.
