I have purchased a Bushmaster M4 A2 assault rifle and I have bought rubber rounds for it. Can I use it to patrol my neighborhood at night? We have ALLOT of druggies on meth, PCP, and heroin. In the past two weeks we have had 5 break in's and robberies. One of the neighbor's is in the hospital for getting shot in the shoulder so they are armed and dangerous. Dont say anything about cops cause the guys are like hydra take one down two more pop up.

it depends on what state you live in, but in some states you can open carry any weapon, you can have a loaded mag but it cant be touching the weapon, the only time the mag can touch the weapon is for defense. so look up the open carry laws for your state. i live in califorina and as of jan 1 2012 we are no longer aloud to open carry.
