If you paid the FPNs you are clear in terms of a CRB. Even if you didn't pay them, you're probably okay for most jobs that require a CRB check. CRB is more about danger to other people (i.e. paedophiles and murderers) than about people with FPNs or PDNs. It's minor stuff and we all make minor mistakes. Don't worry about it.
Seriously, don't worry. UK universities are so desperate for students (given the costs), they'd overlook most things. As for you, you haven't done much wrong. You honestly haven't ruined your chances.

Good! You haven't done anything wrong that is going to hold you back. I know I'm against the system sometimes but it does tend to be fair for people who do daft stuff (done a bit of that myself) and realise we are not bad people and we should be allowed our chance.
