How do cleaning products remove stains?

They contain chlorine bleach or other bleaching agents which are responsible for removing stains. Cleaning products work by reacting with many colored organic compounds, such as natural pigments in stains, and turning them into colorless, soluble particles which are easily removed by detergents, then carried away in the wash water.
