How does biodiversity allow an arctic fox to thrive in its environment?

Biodiversity is not a thing to allow or prevent stuff. It is a description made up by people to describe what they observe. A fox thrives by finding enough food. If there is not enough food in one place, the fox goes someplace else to thrive. Biodiversity means nothing to the fox.
