There is no clear answer for your question. Some movies go straight to DVD and others take over a year. It is a question of box office sales, hype and so on.

A movie is released to DVD, when the production company thinks, that it is the most economically productive idea.

It often takes about 2 days where the DVD are sent to the foreign countries and there you can buy the original DVD and see and enjoy
