Can I use an opened antibiotic syrup for my child?

in my country antibiotic syrup is expensive and my childneeds amoxicillin syrup but I opened it one month ago. Will the syrup will contaminated or affect the child if I give him it now?

Answer

The shelf life of liquid amoxicillin is about 10 days after the seal of the bottle is broken. It is probably safest to get a new bottle and not use this open one as it could be contaminated now.
