I put a 100w bulb in a 60w socket. Now the socket won't work. Do I need replace JUST the socket?

Or have I damage in the wiring behind the fixture? This is a bathroom exhaust fan with a lightbulb feature.

You might have to replace the whole socket. What was this problem? What was your result? How did it break?

the 100w bulb burned out, causing every bulb thereafter to burn out instantly.
i've replaced the socket and seems to work fine now.
