Any advice, tips, or hacks is greatly appreciated. How to plan it out and how to cheaply get from place to place. Basically anything you can tell me about going on a solo roadtrip would be great.

Thousands of youngsters do exactly what you suggest every spring, and they don't know any more than you when they set out. Head for a warm climate. Stand by the freeway onramp going in that general direction, but don't go beyond the sign because it's illegal to stand on the freeway. Accept rides from strangers. Never never get caught stealing anything. Work odd jobs to support yourself. Come back when you have learned a few things.
