I am not saying recreating woodstock because that is a rehashed idea. I mean look at woodstock 99. I want to form my own concert that can create its own legacy. I want it to be about the music not the money. Get a few old school musicians like zeppelin, deep purple, eric clapton, neil young, mixed with some new bands. Good legitimate and for the music bands, not metal, or emo or anything like that. Bands like wolfmother, black keys, florence and the machine, foo fighters, kings of leon. Then also mix it with underground bands. I think the mix of classic, new popular and undergeound would be perfect to get people to come and make it a non comercial feel, because i hate materialism and greed with most music these days.
The platform should not only be about peace love and music but maybe incorprate relevent things to america like the green movement and anti war on terror. Some money from the concert can go to charity and people can use the concert as a platform to protest anything from the war to civil rights( gays ect) We can also do tributes for some of rocks legends.
Vendors would sell merch and food/drinks at a resonable price, not expensive like we are at disney world. The tickets would also be cheap and you can bring a cooler. It would be fun to have a 3 day camp out festival that is safe and sanitary where we can experiance the love and feel liberated in a small utopia. I think if we keep it mellow laid back and non commercial it could work without any problems. I am from hudson valley ny, and if i were to do it i would plan on putting it on there, in a field or something. I know i am only 17 but if i where to do that in the future would you come. Do you think its a good idea?Oo and no mtv, but they dont follow music anyway
