If people cheat with out realising it, do their wins count?

i realized me and my friend weren't playing properly, and I said that our wins shouldn't count, but he thinks I am just making excuses?

If you were playing a game of chess, you and your friend and you both have never played the game before and make false moves to win-are you a cheater and do your wins count? You are not a cheater because you didn't know, you cannot take credit for your wins though.
