Is it better to fail at something or never try in the first place?

Yes, I believe it is better to try and fail than to never try in the first place, because then you'll never know what could have been. Also most successful people failed several times before they became successful. Failure is part of learning and improving. Failure is not a bad thing necessarily, it depends on what you do thereafter.

That depends on what you are talking about. You know they say "If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you."

I presumed she was not talking about skydiving, in which case it is better to never try in the first place. :-)

Fail at something like trying drugs. Trying to improve yourself is much better than harming yourself (or others) in my opinion.

You should NEVER do drugs. Drugs is so bad for you and it can kill you.

I believe it's better to fail at something because then you can figure out how to do it right the next time. As a business person such as myself, I make mistakes a lot. But we can always learn from it. Never trying in the first place is NOT really the best option.
