Is poverty really decreasing, and if not, why not?

The real threat of poverty, is told in the lives of the people who daily experience it. It is not an easy thing to define, since a man may be “poor” in one country and yet, with the same possessions elsewhere, be considered fairly well-to-do.
The rich generally do not want anyone or anything to spoil their privilege. Helping poor nations to get out of poverty proved to be more difficult than helping wealthy nations to recover from war. At present some have been forced to leave their homes and move to big cities or to live as refugees in a new country.
This is what God's words promise. read Psalm 72:12-14.
It would take a new world government to end poverty. Such a government would have to have the power both to distribute the world’s resources fairly and to end wars, which are a major cause of poverty. God has promised such a world government.—Read Daniel 2:44.
Approximately nine million people in many nations are living simple and enjoying a spiritual Paradise awaiting God's Kingdom rule where all mankind needs will be met.
