I came home and I turned it on and it randomly had the lines on it. The background is black and my iPad only responds when I turn it on. I tried hitting it in the back, but that just made a red line fade away. Help! I don’t know what to do at this point.

Not very experienced with technology but have you tried powering it off all the way? If that doesn't work you might have to factory reset it (you can look up how to do this easily). It might go away after a while (things like this sometimes just sort themselves out) or take it into an Apple store
